NAC-The M International Artist Residency

NAC-The M International Artist Residency

Founded in 1976, the Metropolitan Museum of Manila (The M) aims to amplify their audiences’ sense of cultural and artistic heritage, becoming the leading hub for contemporary art by Filipino and international artists engaging in the ever-renewing contemporary discourses and experiences that shape our understanding of society. In 2022 the museum reopened at a new art space in the heart of the Bonifacio Global City with a refreshed dynamism for the 21st century.

This two-month residency programme based in the energetic city of Manila provides a platform for mid-career artists with at least eight years of artistic practice, to engage in an open process of research and knowledge exchange. The artist-in-residence shall receive support* and mentorship to advance and develop critical perspectives on his/her practice by connecting with local communities, building meaningful relationships, and through their work, address key issues at stake in the local context of the Philippines and beyond.

Previous participants of the programme jointly offered by NAC and The M were Fajrina Razak who participated in the programme in 2023, and Anthony Chin, who participated in the programme in 2020.
