More importantly, the conception and premise of the artwork is rooted deeply in the public sphere, where it is widely visible and freely accessible to all.

PEACE (和 平)

After taking visitors on an exhibition tour in the gallery and archive named Memories at Old Ford Factory that showcases life in Singapore under the Japanese wartime rule, visitors see Peace upon exiting the gallery. This pair displays two Chinese characters, 和平 (hé píng), that holds the meaning of Peace in English, and it depicts the sense of peace after war. Chua created this calligraphy sculpture by referencing the Chinese cursive script.
The work was previously displayed at the forecourt of Former Ford Factory (National Monument), Singapore from 2006 to 2016. It has since been relocated to a grass plot area facing the Former Ford Factory building.
