SINGAPORE, 27 April 2026 – The National Arts Council (NAC) and Changi Airport Group (CAG) announced a three-year partnership today, to explore ways to present Singapore’s artistic excellence to the world through Changi Airport which handles about 70 million passengers annually[1]. This collaboration aims to create new opportunities for both local and international passengers to experience Singapore’s arts and culture, through a series of curated art displays, live performances and activations within the airport’s terminals.

Ms Low Yen Ling, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Trade and Industry, attended the launch event at Changi Airport Terminal 4 as Guest-of-Honour for the MOU signing, joined by NAC and CAG representatives, and local artists who presented live poetry and music to celebrate the partnership.

Over the next three years, a series of multidisciplinary arts initiatives will be presented within Changi Airport, spanning literary, visual and performing arts. These include Singapore Literature (SingLit) poetry showcased through live poetry engagements as well as live music performances that extend the reach of NAC’s ongoing I Play SG Music initiative into the airport environment. During key arts festivals, Changi Airport may also serve as a global stage for visual artists, amplifying the international visibility of Singapore’s creative talents.

“NAC's partnership with CAG turns one of the world's busiest hubs into a creative stage for Singapore artists, providing them with access to global travellers,” said Mrs Elaine Ng, Chief Executive Officer, NAC.

Mr Yam Kum Weng, Chief Executive Officer, CAG said, “Changi Airport is more than a gateway to the world – it is often travellers’ first and last impression of Singapore. The airport offers an opportunity to reflect Singapore’s cultural vibrance through the creative works of our homegrown artists as part of the passenger experience. Through this partnership, we can explore ways to further enliven our airport spaces, create moments of positive discovery for passengers, and reinforce Changi Airport’s identity as a worldclass gateway that reflects the spirit and creativity of Singapore.”

The partnership between NAC and CAG is the latest in a series of collaborations that reflect NAC’s broader strategy of bringing the arts into public spaces beyond traditional cultural venues. Guided by Our SG Arts Plan (2023 – 2027), these efforts are part of a larger vision to transform Singapore as a distinctive city, with the country as a canvas for the arts. Recent initiatives include commissioned artwork at MRT stations and themed trains, large-scale community art installations at viaduct spaces and the integration of local poetry and music across the MRT network as part of commuters’ daily travels and venues like Marina Bay Sands.
