En Route to Inclusivity: Working with Children with Disabilities in and through the Arts
To build the capabilities of artists and arts instructors in the special education field, the National Arts Council (NAC) works with the Social Service Institute (SSI) and Rainbow Centre Training & Consultancy (RCTC) to offer the En Route to Inclusivity: Working with Children with Disabilities in and through the Arts course. The programme is curated and contextualised for artists and arts instructors/educators who work with persons with disabilities in the mainstream setting or special education schools. Comprising three classroom workshops conducted by SSI and one practicum module conducted at Rainbow Centre, participants will be equipped with the competencies to facilitate arts-based learning for students with special needs.
Artists and arts instructors/educators who successfully complete the course will fulfil the minimum pedagogical requirement to conduct NAC-AEP for children in Special Education schools.
This course will supersede the previous training course, Facilitating Arts Based Learning for Children with Special Needs that was conducted by the Social Service Institute from 2013 to 2019.
