The Everyday Vinyl – Community Collaging

The Everyday Vinyl – Community Collaging engages participants in collaging workshops to collectively contribute to a large community mural. The project offers hands-on sessions for audiences of all ages to gather and get creative with shapes and colours, while learning about sustainable efforts in repurposing unwanted vinyl stickers into art. The final mural is a tessellation of individual collages by participants, growing with every session to reimagine the existing architecture of the neighbourhood. The Everyday Vinyl is a series of work by DASSAD that ruminates on the hyperobject of the plastic, concentrating on a particular material - the ubiquitous vinyl. The work has taken the form of public installations, workshops, community-based programmes and visual arts exhibitions to date.

The Everyday Vinyl – Community Collaging is supported by SAW x PAssionArts.
