About the Capability Development grant
The Capability Development (CD) grant supports the continuous professional development of people working in Singapore's arts and culture sector. It is open to individuals and organisations, and covers training activities or programmes lasting no more than 12 consecutive months.
What the CD grant covers
The CD grant supports two categories of training activity.
Professional training and skills development programmes, such as workshops, masterclasses, seminars, and conferences; professional programmes (e.g. certified or accredited courses such as professional diplomas); residencies; participation in competitions; and structured mentorships.
On-the-job training activities, such as work attachments, internships, traineeships, and apprenticeships.
As an individual, you may participate in any of the above. As an organisation, you may send your employees or members to participate, or organise these activities for them.
Funding varies by applicant. The table below shows the coverage percentage and annual cap for each applicant type.

Step 1 — Receive your results
Successful applicants will receive a Letter of Award via the OurSG Grants Portal (OSG) on the notification day, setting out the terms and conditions of the grant and the performance goals and deliverables agreed upon by you and NAC. The grant offer is valid for two weeks from the date the notification is sent. If you do not accept within this period, the offer will lapse. Unsuccessful applicants will also be notified within the same period.
NAC is unable to consider appeals on the basis of artistic assessment. However, appeals on grounds of processing procedures will be reviewed. All appeals must be submitted in writing to NAC within two weeks of receiving your results notification.
Step 2 — Receive your funding
Your grant will be disbursed in instalments upon completion of the key milestones and deliverables in your proposed project timeline. Funds will be credited directly to your registered bank account via PayNow.
Step 3 — Submit your closing reports
Within three months of completing your project, log on to the OurSG Grants Portal (OSG) to submit the following:
CD Self-Evaluation Report (available on OSG portal), to help you reflect on what you have accomplished.
Financial Report (for grants below $10,000) — the budget form submitted with your application, updated to reflect actual income and expenditure. Supporting documents such as receipts may also be requested.
Certified Statement of Accounts (for grants of $10,000 and above) — certified by an accountant registered with the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) or an equivalent international body. Proof of the accountant's registration (e.g. ISCA Membership ID or equivalent documentary proof) must be provided, and certification must be done on the original budget form template submitted at the point of application.
