Highlights students can expect from Programme
There are many ways of telling stories and using objects, while telling stories is one of the most enjoyable for both the teller and the audience. In this very practical workshop, students will be introduced to a number of stories that are enhanced by the use of objects. These may include: string stories, drawing stories, paperfolding or tearing stories, hankerchief stories and sand stories. The students will have the opportunity to explore the props and practice their use. They will leave the workshop with handouts and materials that will enable them to further develop their skills in telling these types of stories.
At the end of the programme students will learn to / understand
The programme will help the students to develop their:
* enjoyment of stories and storytelling
* understanding of the art of storytelling and
some of the different styles of storytelling
* confidence in their ability to tell
stories
* skill in manipulating different objects
as storytelling props
