NAC recognises the need to nurture the next generation of arts professsionals who can contribute to the development, vibrancy, and evolution of Singapore’s arts and cultural sector

The NAC believes that continuous learning and professional development is necessary not only to advance artistic practice, but to equip arts professionals with the skills necessary to professionalise their practice such that our scene can grow in both depth and diversity.

While the NAC can support continuous professional development in diverse areas within the arts, priority will be given to the following areas that have been identified as lacking or critical to the development of Singapore’s arts scene:

  • Arts practice with a focus in education, working with communities and/or youth (e.g., facilitation and pedagogy)
  • Arts practice with a focus in traditional art form(s) that reflect the Chinese, Malay and Indian heritage of Singapore
  • Visual arts curating
  • Literary publishing, editing, translation and creative writing
  • Technical production design, management and technical arts
  • Arts management
  • Arts research, critique and documentation
