Create, Remake or Adapt?

Create, Remake or Adapt?

The last decade has seen a boom in streaming platforms, animation, gaming and VR, reflecting a hunger for original and compelling content. Now, more than ever before, literary works — novels, short stories, comics, etc. — have arguably become a wellspring of inspiration to capture the attention of audiences.

A joint initiative by the National Arts Council and Embassy of France in Singapore, Create, Remake or Adapt? is a two-day workshop on the business of transmedia adaptation today. Through panel discussions, case studies, breakout circles and networking with industry professionals, the workshop will tread a range of topics on what it takes to realise an adaptation across page, screen and audio-visual media. Participants will also have the opportunity to practise pitching a title for adaptation, as well as at the Asia TV Forum & Market.

Suitable for professionals/practitioners working in or associated with the literary arts, publishing, film, television and audio-visual media sectors. Participate in this workshop to meet your fellow colleagues in the field of transmedia adaptation, and collectively explore possibilities of the written word in the creative economy!
