Volunteers Needed for Singapore Biennale 2008


Be part of the upcoming Singapore Biennale 2008 (SB2008) as Singapore’s premier international contemporary arts extravaganza returns in September to bring visual arts into the daily lives of Singaporeans. Sign up today as a volunteer to discover what goes on behind the operations of this large-scale event and gain insights into well-known artists’ processes in creating their works.


To help run the second edition which takes on the theme of Wonder, some 600 volunteers are needed to work behind-the-scenes to assist to bring art and people together, increase public interest in the arts and promote contemporary arts in Singapore. We are seeking people from all walks of life, willing to bring their own unique talents, experiences and knowledge to enrich the mission of SB2008.


With new progammes like the Kids’ Biennale, as well as the education and public outreach programmes accompanying the main exhibition, you can be an Exhibition Tour Guide, Artist Assistant, Event Assistant, Programme Officer, Administrative Assistant and more. The Volunteer Programme offers a wide array of roles in event management, hospitality, administration, education and public outreach, logistics, programming, concierge and customer relations.


To get a sneak peek at the exciting line-up for the Biennale, the public is invited to a free talk, Discover the Wonder - Introduction to the Singapore Biennale 2008 and the Volunteer Programme on Saturday, 26 July (2-3pm) at Living Room, The Arts House. The speakers are General Manager (SB2008), Low Kee Hong and Education & Outreach Manager (SB2008), Pearlyn Cai.
