Singapore Arts Festival 2007: Festival Updates

Additional Performance

The evening performances of PLAY! A Video Game Symphony on 15 & 16 June at 7.30pm are now SOLD OUT.

Due to the overwhelming response, the National Arts Council is pleased to announce an additional matinee show of PLAY! on 16 June at 2.30pm at the Esplanade Concert Hall. Tickets for the matinee will go on sale at all SISTIC counters on 3 May.

Performed by the Singapore Festival Orchestra (SFO) and conducted by Arnie Roth (Music Director for PLAY!) the symphonic concert features award-winning music from popular video games.  The inauguration of the SFO is an initiative of the Festival’s 30th Anniversary celebrations. As the Festival’s resident orchestra, the SFO will be the third orchestra outside of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and Singapore Chinese Orchestra to be made up entirely of professional or professionally trained musicians.

In addition to Play! the SFO will also perform in Festival Fantasia on 23 June at 7.30pm under the baton of its Music Director Chan Tze Law. As the Festival’s closing concert, besides including some of the best-loved orchestral works, the programme of Festival Fantasia will also feature Singapore’s award-winning young music talents – Abigail Sin and Loh Jun Hong.
