Over 60 Asia’s Rising Pop and Rock Music Artistes Gather in Singapore

POPagenda Singapore – Singapore’s newest music platform, presents its line-up of artistes, bands and programme for its opening event Pop Village and closing show Rock D’Fort.  Music lovers, aspiring musicians and adoring fans should not miss the exciting performances by Japan’s Aikawa Nanase, Korea’s Rock Tigers and Ryu of the popular Winter Sonata theme song, Taiwan’s Tank and Ji Xiao Jun, Hong Kong’s Chet Lam and at17, China’s China Magpie and the Philippines’ Bamboo.  They join Singapore’s very own Tanya Chua, Concave Scream, Ahli Fiqir, Addy, Jai, Chou Pi Jiang, Gong Shi Jia, Chua Lee Lian, 3Dash1, Ugly in the Morning, Bushmen, Fatskunks and many more.

As a key platform to profile and boost the development of our home-grown talents and capabilities in contemporary music, workshops, seminars and forums with local and Asian music companies and industry experts are highlights of POPagenda.  Topics include the use of new technology and the Internet to use or distribute original creations, DIY music recording and marketing for singers-songwriters, as well as a workshop where participants can have their original compositions assessed by singer-composer Dick Lee. Other speakers include Yao Chien of Chengtian Music Production, Yen Ong of Soundbuzz Singapore, Leonard Soosay of Snakeweed Studio, singer-composer Liang Wern Fook, the Principle Organiser of Beijing Midi Music Festival Zhang Fan, and Shen Li Hui, Founder of ModernSky Entertainment Company.

POPagenda is Singapore’s newest music platform to celebrate local music talents with those of Asia.  It is also a vehicle for music industry players to discover talents, share their expertise, promote exchange, and develop partnerships and business opportunities. Organised by the National Arts Council, POPagenda looks to support the local scene by profiling and promoting the development of home-grown talents and capabilities in contemporary music, thereby encouraging and fostering the development of a thriving S-Pop music industry in Singapore.
