Patron of the Arts Award 2005 - Open for Nominations
The National Arts Council’s (NAC) prestigious annual awards for arts sponsorship are open for nominations. Both organisations and individuals who have contributed to the arts industry for the year 2004 are eligible for the award.
The Patron of the Arts Award honours contributions of $10,000 and above. As Singapore’s foremost recognition for arts sponsorship, the award is conferred yearly by the Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts. It comprises the five categories of Distinguished Patron of the Arts Award, Patron of the Arts Award, Friend of the Arts Award, Associate of the Arts Award and Arts Supporter Award.
To be given out later this year, the awards are given in appreciation of organisations and individuals who have contributed towards the promotion and organisation of artistic activities in Singapore, either in cash or in kind. Contributions must have been made during the period of 1 January to 31 December 2004.
Total arts sponsorship recorded for the year 2003 scaled new heights at $77.7 million. For their contributions, 252 corporate sponsors and 54 individuals, including 98 new contributors, received their awards in a ceremony held in September last year.
