Tickets for Master Classes & Finals on Sale Now!

Come and watch the best in classical music compete in the biennial National Piano and Violin Competition! The 2007 Competition, which attracted 274 entries, begins 5 December and culminates in two evenings of inspirational performances: the Finals of the Artist category cum Prize Presentation ceremonies on 13 and 14 December 2007.

Held at the Victoria Concert Hall, both evenings will feature the newly commissioned Singapore Festival Orchestra conducted by Maestro Chan Tze Law, as they accompany the Artist category Finalists in their performances of violin and piano concertos. The 60-piece Orchestra, inaugurated in June at this year’s Singapore Arts Festival, comprises many of Singapore’s best professional musicians.

  • Paul Pollei, Founder-Director of the Gina Bachauer International Piano Foundation

  • Roberto Plano, concert pianist and first prize winner of the 2001 Cleveland International Piano Competition

  • Mary Wu, award-winning pianist and founding member of the Bauhinia Piano Trio

  • Stan Kornel, violinist and founder and artistic director of the early-music ensemble, The Sydney Consort

  • Natalia Boyarsky, Violin Professor at the Royal College of Music in London

  • Aki Sauliere, violinist, Chamber Orchestra of Europe

Admission is free to the preliminary rounds for all categories and Finals of the Junior, Intermediate and Senior categories. Tickets to the Finals of the Artist category and Prize Presentation Ceremonies are priced at $10 per evening, with a 20% discount for those who purchase tickets to both evenings. Tickets to the master classes are priced at $8 per session. All tickets are now available at SISTIC.
