17 Industry Professionals Appointed For Arts Festival Review
SINGAPORE, 2 July 2012 – The National Arts Council (NAC) announces the formation of the committee to review the Singapore Arts Festival, comprising prominent members of the arts community. Working in tandem with the objectives presented in the Arts and Culture Strategic Review (ACSR) announced earlier this year, this Review Committee will work towards coming up with a refreshed and re-energised plan for the Singapore Arts Festival by December this year.
2 The Review Committee consists of 17 members from across the arts, media and public sectors. It will be chaired by Mr. Benson Puah, NAC’s Chief Executive Officer. These individuals were selected based on their knowledge, experience and expertise of Singapore’s arts and cultural landscape. The primary responsibility of this Review Committee is to make recommendations with regards to the role, programming direction, operating model for the Singapore Arts Festival. In addition, the Review Committee will carry out further public consultations and examine suggestions for possible activities in 2013 as a lead up to the Festival’s return in 2014. The detailed terms of reference and list of committee members are included in Annex A.
