To kick-off the morning before the Dance-Walk, local dance companies O School and Frontier Danceland will present a collaborative work at the National Gallery Singapore City Hall Steps. Bringing the urban and contemporary dance genre together, this engaging dance performance reveals fresh possibilities and the diversity of movement in Singapore. Let the dancers bring you the best of both worlds at this performance!


Commissioned by the National Arts Council for Got to Move 2017.

GTM Spotlight will showcase performances by a wide range of dance companies at our main stage on Esplanade Park. After a good dance workout in the morning, this is a great way to chill out with your friends and families while enjoying the performances! From the traditional to contemporary and even ballet, be captivated by the dancers as they move effortlessly to the music.

As a platform for audiences to encounter dance in unique and unconventional ways, GTM Spotlight’s line-up of interactive programmes will bring you a new perspective of dance! Engage in fun ways of moving beyond our taster classes as these activities appeal to those looking for something different to do over the weekend. Look out for activities such as roving dance performances along interesting spaces within the Civic District and participate in a kinaesthetic dance event designed for people of all ages to learn dance gestures together!

Other Car-Free Sunday SG spaces will be infused with simple dance elements for the public to keep fit in a fun way. Come hang out at the Civic District and find new ways of exercising with your friends and families.

GTM Dance-Walk

The GTM Dance-Walk is the main programme highlight for 29 October 2017. Conceptualised as a simple and highly-inclusive activity for all, this 30-minute Dance-Walk is sure to suit you, even if you feel like you have got 2 left feet! Think of it as your morning walk with a twist - gather your friends and families to get your dose of cardio in a new and fun way. The atmosphere will get you grooving along to the music with the dance motivators as you enjoy this unique experience. 


Pre-registration is not compulsory to participate in this event, but the first 500 people to pre-register will receive Got to Move 2017 T-Shirts and goodie bags.

Be inspired by the dancers to pick up a new skill at the various dance taster classes on Connaught Drive. With family-friendly classes, parents can enjoy your Sunday morning learning with your young ones and grandparents alike! And if you have always wanted to dance but never had the chance to – GTM’s taster classes are suitable for you (and couples too) as it features exciting genres like partner dances, bollywood, traditional forms and urban dances that will keep you coming back for more.
