DESCRIPTION

This lecture demo/dialogue session presented by Kavitha Krishnan (Artistic Director, Maya Dance Theatre) and Liz Lea (Former Artistic Director of Canberra Dance and ACT 'City News' Artist of the Year for 2017) will highlight the use of the arts (Dance), as a medium to bring awareness about social issues in today's society. From their works, RED by Liz Lea and Flowers Don't Bloom All the Time and Puffing Bodies by Kavitha with Maya, both the artmakers will bring forth the value of social messenging through Dance. The session will also feature a short film on disability and the arts from Australia.
