Need a quiet place to write? Looking for inspiration?

The National Arts Council is pleased to present the third year of the Writer-In-The Gardens Residency Programme, which will take place in Gardens by the Bay, Fort Canning Park and Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve.

The residency will empower writers to take time off from their busy, urban lives to write. Writers can be inspired by the whimsical horticultural displays at the futuristic Gardens by the Bay, immerse themselves in Singapore’s cultural and historical heritage hidden beneath the lush foliage of Fort Canning Park, or explore the astonishing biodiversity of the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve.

The residency is open to emerging and established writers from Singapore in English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil. There are two Residencies available for Gardens by the Bay, and one Residency each for Fort Canning Park and Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. Successful applicants will be given funding towards the development of the work.

Applications for this programme are now closed. Successful applicants have been informed of their results. Thank you for your interest in the Writer-in-the-Gardens Residency programme.
