The Council has an Emerging Artists Fund that is specifically set up to assist new and promising but unproven artist(s), especially fresh arts graduates who would like to present their first major group or solo project.
Among other factors, applications are primarily assessed based on the creative potential of the artist(s), the relevant arts training or background (if any), artistic merit of the proposal, and the artist(s)' commitment towards contributing to the Singapore arts scene.
This grant is only awarded once to successful applicants, thereafter they can apply for Project Grant upon the Council's evaluation on the outcome of their first project. |

There are no restrictions on the number of times you can apply for a grant, but each scheme has specific maximum quantum capped at a certain grant amount:
- For ad-hoc Project Grants, the sum total to any one particular organisation or individual will not exceed $50,000 per year. All other schemes have different capped quantum per year.
- Exceptions to this maximum quantum practice are the SIA-NAC Travel Grant (limited to only 2 grant awards per year for each organisation or individual) & Emerging Artists Fund (only awarded once to each individual or group; successful applicants may apply for Project Grant for future projects).
