& Bursaries Application Procedures | FAQs
- Study the types of grant schemes available from
NAC and identify the scheme that best meets your needs.
- Check your eligibility to apply for the grant against
the grant information sheet located at the webpage
of the grant scheme you are interested in applying
for.
- Check that you meet the eligibility requirements
for the grant application.
- Apply for the grant using the relevant online application
form. The online application forms are available at
the respective grant information webpages.
- Make sure that you answer the questions on the application
form, including the synopsis and objectives of your
project proposal and a clear and realistic budget.
Budget carefully and fill up the project budget section
of the application form. An accurate and well-presented
budget is indicative of the administrative capacity
of the applicant or the organisation.
- Make sure that all the required supporting documents
and materials are mailed to NAC. This includes a brief
history of your organisation or articles of memorandum
(if you are a first-time applicant) and curriculum
vitae of key participating artists. All attachments
must be printed on A4-sized paper. Take note of your
application reference number and quote it when you
send in your supporting documents and materials.
- Check that you have no outstanding evaluation or
feedback reports for previous grants received. If
you have any reports outstanding to the Council, your
application will not be eligible.
- Check that the start date of your proposed project,
event or publication is at least two months away from
the date of your submission. Where applicable, check
that you have met the closing dates for the schemes.
- Send in your supporting information and materials
within a week of submitting your online application.
Applications without supporting information and materials
will not be considered and will be returned. Late
applications will be considered in the next window
of application.
Keep a copy of your application for your own records.
Step 1
NAC officers will check your eligibility for the scheme
to which you have applied, and ensure that any feedback
or evaluation forms from previously funded projects have
been submitted.
Step 2
NAC officers will check all the required supporting materials
and if necessary, contact you for more information if
the application is incomplete.
Step 3
Applications will be assessed by NAC officers and/or specialist
panels drawn from NAC's arts resource panel. This panel
is made up of a range of experts and arts practitioners
from across the art forms.
Step 4
Applications will be assessed against the published criteria
of each grant scheme. These may include the artistic merit
and impact of your project on the local arts scene, its
innovativeness and creative potential, the track record
and calibre of the artists involved, and the demonstration
of sound planning and financial management.
Step 5
Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application
within two months from the application closing date.
