Short Term Training Grants
To develop arts talents and supporting personnel in the creative industries, the National Arts Council provides assistance to help practicing artists and arts students to pursue short-term training in performing arts, visual arts, literary arts and arts management.

All grant schemes offered are open to practitioners of the following arts forms: Dance, Music, Theatre, Multimedia Performance, Visual Art, Literary Art and Photography. Note:
The grant schemes and their closing date may change without notice. If the closing date falls on a Sunday or public holiday, all applications must be postmarked by the next working day. All hand-delivered applications must be received by the Council by the closing date, no later than 5pm on weekdays and 1pm on Saturdays, or by the next working day if the closing date falls on a Sunday or public holiday.

Rotary-Club-NAC Arts Training Grant
Provides assistance to practising artists who wish to pursue short-term training in fine arts, photography, music, dance, theatre and literature either locally or overseas. The grant quantum is up to 50% of total cost of training.

Professional Skills Development Fund
The Fund aims to make continual training and learning an essential part of human resource development in arts organisations and within the arts industry. It provides assistance to practitioners, arts administrators, designers, technical and production personnel who wish to upgrade their professional skills through short term training both locally and overseas. The grant quantum for overseas training will not exceed 50% of the cost of training (up to a maximum of $6,000 per application). The quantum for local training will not exceed 80% of the cost of training (up to a maximum of $2,000 per application). Total funding will not exceed 28 days of training per year and is capped at $6,000 per individual per year.

Artist-In-Residence Scheme
This assists non-profit distributing arts groups in engaging experts to conduct specialised or advanced arts training which would contribute towards upgrading the artistic skills and standards of the members of the group. This scheme provides a grant of up to 50% of the total cost of training.

Iowa International Writing Programme Fellowship +
+ Literary arts only
This provides financial support to one or two established Singaporean writers each year, who wish to attend the prestigious 3-month writing residency organised by the University of Iowa, USA. The residency commences between Aug/Sep every year. Each successful applicant will be given up to $10,000.

Overseas Writing Programme (OWP) Grant +
+ Literary arts only
This provides financial assistance to established or developing Singaporean writers who wish to participate in internationally recognised writing programmes or residencies overseas to further their professional development. Applicants must have already gained admission to writers' studios or programmes overseas. Successful applicants will be given up to $6,000.

Writer-In-Residence Scheme +
+ Literary arts only
This provides financial assistance to organisations who wish to retain the services of a well-known foreign or Singaporean writer-in-residence under a 2-3 months residency programme. Up to $6,000 will be provided to host a writer based in Singapore and up to $9,000 will be provided to host an overseas writer.

Mentor Access Programme (MAP) +
+ Literary arts only
This is 18-month mentorship programme to ensure the sustained development of young and emerging writers by providing them with mentorship opportunities and on-going critical feedback. At the end of the programme, any original work produced may be published or presented at an organised reading event.
