Patron of the Arts Awards
Singapore's vibrant arts and culture scene is possible only with the generous contributions of sponsors, donors and supporters of the arts.

Nominations are now open for contributions, in cash or in kind, made during the period of 1 January to 31 December 2011.

Nominations may be submitted online

• Arts Supporter Award: $10,000 - $50,000
• Associate of the Arts Award: $50,000 - $100,000
• Friend of the Arts Award: $100,000 - $300,000
• Patron of the Arts Award: Above $300,000
  
• Distinguished Patron of the Arts Award:
  $1.5m within 5 years. With every subsequent yearly contribution of $300,000, the individual or organisation will continue to receive the Distinguished Patron of the Arts Award.

1. The arts activities, including those held at the community level, must have a significant impact on the artistic development in Singapore and must not be part of the organisations’ core strategies, business operations or marketing plans.
2. The relevant art genres are music, drama/theatre, dance, film, literature, photography and the visual arts. Folk, traditional, classical and contemporary forms of the relevant art genres are eligible for nomination.
3. Cash donations towards performances, competitions, exhibitions and scholarship programmes, or sponsorship of arts facilities, equipment and music instruments are eligible for nomination.
4. In-kind sponsorship must meet the needs of the beneficiary and offer real cost savings to the beneficiary.
5. Discounts, bonus, upgrades, value-adds and waivers that are part of business negotiations to obtain best value for money, shall not be considered in-kind sponsorship.
6. Marketing partnerships such as official media, official website, official hotel, etc which requires dollar investment from the beneficiary is a sales purchase, and shall not be considered in-kind sponsorship. For marketing deals that require no dollar investment from the beneficiary, the product or service offered must meet the needs of the beneficiary to be considered in-kind sponsorship.
7. The cost incurred by organisations which promote/support/organise arts activities as part of their core strategies, business operations or marketing plans shall not be considered in-kind sponsorship.
8. Product giveaway is an opportunity for the product owner to distribute or display his product. The value of the products given away is thus not considered to be in-kind sponsorship to the beneficiary. However if the product giveaway meets the needs of the beneficiary, such as being a necessary part of the activity, it shall be considered in-kind sponsorship.
9. With the inaugural Patron of Heritage Awards by the National Heritage Board in 2007, contributions towards museum/heritage collections, and any activity, project, programme or event recognised under the Patron of Heritage Awards, will no longer be recognised under the Patron of the Arts Awards.

Conferment of Award
The Council reserves the right to revise the rules and procedures or waive them at its own discretion, in keeping with the spirit and purpose of the Awards. In all these matters, the decision of the Council is final.


Nomination Procedure
Nominations may be submitted online supported by receipts and/or other relevant documents as proof of the sponsorship.

Any nomination, even if it is less than the minimum qualifying contribution of $10,000 for conferment of the lowest award tier, is strongly encouraged so that the nominee can be accurately recognised for his cumulative contribution.

Nominations for the 2012 Patron of the Arts Awards will close on 29 February 2012.
