Calling all budding performing artists: here’s your chance to perform! We provide the stage, sound system and publicity; you provide your talent!

The Stage is Yours aims to motivate and inspire the practice of arts at the community level by providing a platform for amateur groups and individuals to perform in public. To date, some 200 talents have participated in these concerts.

Terms & Conditions

1          Eligibility

• Amateur arts performers who are Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents (PR)           

• Applicants below the age of 16 years must apply with parents’ consent

2          Application Process

• All applications must be made on the prescribed application form and be submitted at least one month before the performance date

• The Council reserves the rights:

(a)               to audition applicants. Only shortlisted applicants will be notified

(b)               to request for the lyrics of songs featured in music / dance performances

(c)               not to disclose reasons for approving or disapproving applications

3          Performance
 

3.1       The performer(s) shall ensure that the performance:

• is arts-based and of aesthetic value

• is suitable and appropriate for a wide range of audience, including young children, multi-ethnic and multi-religious communities

• does not pose any health, fire or safety hazard

3.2       The performance is free:

• no grant will be provided to the performer(s) 

• performer(s) are not allowed to solicit donations from the audience at any time.

3.3       Any changes made to the performance programme must be reported to NAC, in writing, at least 2 days prior to the performance

3.4       Written consent from the NAC is required for any sale of merchandise by the performer(s).

3.5      The Council reserves the right to review or withdraw the performance

4          Responsibilities of NAC

• Royalty payments to Compass as well as the relevant public performance licence(s)

• Provision of a basic sound system for each performance (list of items can be found in the application form).

• Publicity of the concerts.

• In the event of rain, the concert will be delayed for half an hour, after which it will commence. The performance will only be cancelled if there is a heavy downpour. 

Through strategic partnerships with the Community Development Councils, the National Arts Council brings this series of concerts to different parts of Singapore. You may choose to participate in The Stage Is Yours at the CDC of your choice!
