2008 National Chinese Music Competition

The biennial National Chinese Music Competition is set to be more intense than ever! This year’s Competition received a record 287 entries. Competing categories include ensemble and solo performances on the dizi, erhu, guzheng, pipa, suona, yangqin and zhongruan. Join in the excitement as the young musicians strive for top honours at the Competition.

 

Admission is free to the Preliminary and Final rounds of the Competition.

About the Competition

 

The biennial National Chinese Music Competition was first organised in 1998 by the National Arts Council and serves as a platform for music excellence. It aims to develop the performing skills of musicians in Singapore; to improve musical standards; and to identify potential music talents. It provides opportunities for young musicians to perform in a competitive situation before an international jury.
