Over the past two decades, the National Arts Council (NAC) has been awarding scholarships to nurture artistic talents and leaders in the arts and cultural sector. With the establishment of new arts infrastructure and institutions, Singapore's arts scene has seen a significant increase in the number of performing and visual arts activities, as well as the number of arts organisations in Singapore.
As the arts scene enters the next phase of development amidst an increasingly complex socio-cultural environment, NAC recognises the need to nurture a diversity of arts practitioners and professionals who can lead in elevating the development of Singapore's arts and cultural organisations, and in championing the artistic cause to a wider community.
NAC Scholarships aim to groom outstanding individuals who wish to pursue a career in the arts, in the areas of artistic practice, production and management. These scholarships are for those who are creative, bold and passionate about developing Singapore's arts and cultural landscape.
The NAC offers the following scholarships to address specific needs of the sector:
