Overview
The NAC Arts Scholarship (Postgraduate) recognises outstanding arts practitioners and professionals with a vision to lead and advance the development of their practice in the fields of performing arts, visual arts, literary arts, technical arts design and production, or arts management in Singapore. The postgraduate scholarship supports the deepening of knowledge and skills of practicing artists and professionals who seek to assume a bigger role in their artistic or professional career and bring about positive changes in the arts and cultural sector in Singapore. <
While the NAC Arts Scholarship supports a wide range of arts and arts-related courses, the following fields of study will be accorded priority:
- Arts practice with a focus in community arts, arts education, or a traditional art form
- Visual arts curating
- Literary arts publishing, editing and creative writing
- Technical arts design and production
- Arts management
- Research of arts practices

Course of Study
Scholarship recipients will receive support for full-time studies leading to a postgraduate degree in the fields of performing arts, visual arts*, literary arts, technical arts design and production, or arts management at recognised universities or arts institutions in Singapore or overseas.
*For applicants pursuing design or media courses, you may wish to consider other Creative Industries Scholarships offered by DesignSingapore Council and Media Development Authority.
Scholarship Coverage
- For local study, the scholarship will cover tuition and compulsory fees up to $20,000 per year, subject to a maximum of $40,000;
- For overseas study, the scholarship is capped at $100,000 and will cover the following in order of priority:
- Up to four years of full tuition and compulsory fees
- Monthly maintenance allowance
- International travel allowance
Service Commitment
Scholarship recipients will fulfill a 2-year service commitment in Singapore's arts and cultural sector over a period of 5 years upon graduation.
Eligibility
Applicants of NAC Arts Scholarship (Postgraduate) must
- Be Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents
- Posses a Bachelor degree or equivalent
Applicants who have started their postgraduate programme may apply. However, there must be at least 12 months to the completion of study from the point of scholarship award. The Scholarship will cover applicable fees and allowances from the point of award, and the recipient will fulfill a 2-year service commitment in Singapore's arts and cultural sector over a period of 5 years upon graduation.
Assessment criteria
Eligible applicants will be assessed based on:
- Potential contribution of the applicant's area of studies to the development of the arts and cultural sector in Singapore
- Talent (creative potential), and leadership qualities
- Strong track record of involvement and achievements in the arts in Singapore
- Good academic record
- Having at least 2 years of relevant industry experience
