This grant supports well-defined research projects on Singapore's arts and artists that will lead to significant advances in creativity, insights, knowledge and understanding of the Singapore arts scene; and are of interest and value both to the research community and to the wider public in Singapore.
This grant supports academic-oriented (e.g. documentation), market-oriented (e.g. surveys), as well as practice-oriented research.
Applications are open to local or foreign:
- Artists and non-profit arts organisations;
- Arts researchers (individual or group)
Projects on the following topics will be given higher priority, subject to fulfillment of other grant criteria and overall merit of the proposal.
- Arts Education (e.g. research on private arts education, longitudinal studies on formal arts education)
- Arts Manpower (e.g. research on the demand and supply of arts manpower)
- Arts Industry (e.g. economic analysis on the performing arts, visual arts or literary arts sectors)
- Arts Sponsorship and Donation (e.g. trends in private contributions to the arts)
- Singapore Literature (e.g. trends in cross-language in literary works)
- Traditional Arts (e.g. documentation and research on traditional arts practices)
