The biennial National Piano & Violin Competition is set to be more intense than ever! This year's Competition received a record of 321 entries – 215 for piano, 106 for violin.

ADMISSION to the Quarter-Finals (all categories), Semi-Finals (all categories), and Finals (Junior, Intermediate & Senior categories) is FREE. Tickets to the Finals (Artist Category) & Prize Presentation and Masterclasses are available through SISTIC website www.sistic.com.sg, SISTIC Hotline (65) 6348555 and all SISTIC Authorised Agents from 11 November 2009 onwards. Ticket prices exclude SISTIC fee.

 

 

 

 

Finals (Artist Category) & Prize Presentation

Catch the passion and excitement as the top finalists of the Artist category perform their concertos with the Singapore Festival Orchestra conducted by Maestro Chan Tze Law. Selected first prize winners from the Junior, Intermediate and Senior categories will also perform solo works.

Masterclasses

Tickets at $8 per session

 

The adjudicators will conduct masterclasses which are open to observers. Selected participants from the Competition will perform at the masterclasses. The schedule is as follows:

About the Competition

The biennial National Piano and Violin Competition was first organised in 1997 by the National Arts Council and serves as a platform for music excellence. It aims to develop the performing skills of musicians in Singapore; to improve musical standards; and to identify potential music talents. It provides opportunities for young musicians to perform in a competitive situation before an international jury.
