Think you’re over the hill? Wondering how your elderly parent can pass time having fun? Or just curious about the potential creative juices buried inside grandfather’s head?
We mean it when we say it’s never too late to enjoy and create art with the myriad activities taking place in community spaces around you. Our Arts for All performances include community sing-a-long, traditional Malay dance, and a rendition of old favourites by a Chinese wind orchestra. Our taster workshops in papercutting, recycled art, photography and Chinese drumming are a hit with elders who continually surprise us with their passion and skill.
We want to see the twinkle in your wrinkle!
This is part of the Silver Arts Programme, which aims to provide enjoyable arts activities in the neighbourhood for seniors to explore their creative side, make friends and pick up a new skill! Through fun arts experiences, seniors are hopefully able to age more meaningfully and share stories with younger generations. In unlocking the artistic potential within seniors, we also wish to challenge mindsets about arts and aging. Who knew grandmother could act on stage, or that grandfather and his kakis could work with an artist?
