Malay Music Development Committee

The Malay Music Development Committee was launched in 1999 with the aim to nurture talents in Malay music, as well as look into the development of traditional Malay music.

Since its formation, the Committee has supported activities organised by the Malay community. These activities include Perkamus' publication "7 Magnificent Composers", a book which documents the songs of important Malay composers such as Zubir Said, P. Ramlee and Kassim Masdor. The Committee has also supported Perkamus' 2003 Asli Song Seminar and Competition, which attracted a good response from the Malay community.

The Committee welcome feedback and proposals in developing and promoting Malay music.
