The NAE award criteria cover three areas:
This criterion
examines how the school articulates and implements its policy on arts education
for a holistic education.
This criterion
examines how the school implements its arts programmes, nurtures the
potential of its staff, provides opportunities to maximise the use of
resources as well as cultivate partnerships with other organizations, to
attain the goals of the arts programmes.
This criterion
examines how the school promotes a vibrant arts culture and achieves positive
results. Schools will be evaluated based on the
performance indicators for each domain ·
The ‘Process’
Domains will be assessed
based on the following dimensions: approach, deployment, assessment and
review. The supporting evidence should prove that processes are in place and
the approach is sound and integrated, systematically deployed or implemented,
with regular assessment and improvement. ·
The ‘Results’
Domains should have
supporting evidence that indicates positive trends, and that the school has
set appropriate and achievable targets. The evidence should be presented
using tables, charts or graphs where appropriate. In each domain, there are performance indicators that serve as
standards to guide the evaluation of each criterion. Schools do their self-assessment using
these performance indicators, all of which will count towards the award. Each indicator is a statement of attainment. Four levels of
attainment are drawn up for each statement. Schools select the rating that
best describes their performance for each Indicator Statement |
